Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centred Counselling, which serves as the foundation of my work. This client-centred approach emphasises the importance of empathy and authenticity. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings and experiences openly. By creating a warm, safe and accepting environment, I aim to connect with your true self and support you as you discover meaningful insights and make changes in your life.
In addition to Person-Centred Counselling, elements of Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Transactional Analysis (TA) will be incorporated into our sessions.
Gestalt Therapy focuses on awareness and the present moment, encouraging you to become more conscious of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in the room. By exploring these aspects in the here and now, we can uncover patterns and gain insights into how they impact your life.
CBT, on the other hand, is a structured approach that helps identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs. Through CBT, we can work together to develop practical strategies for managing difficult emotions and behaviours, empowering you to take control of your thoughts, beliefs and actions.
TA adds another layer to our work, exploring the dynamics of your relationships and communication patterns. This approach provides a framework for understanding how past experiences influence your interactions with others, helping you develop healthier and more effective ways of relating.
I believe that counselling cannot be 'one size fits all '. Everyone is unique, and while people may have similar experiences, no one else has lived your exact life. As an integrative counsellor, I will tailor our sessions to your personal needs and goals. Whether you're seeking support for a specific issue, looking to discover more about yourself, or just want someone to witness your truth, I am alongside you. Together, we'll create a therapeutic journey that honours your individuality, fosters personal growth, and cultivates a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.
Providing you with a safe space
All sessions, in-person and remote, will take place in a soothing environment with fully private rooms to guarantee confidentiality.

In-person sessions are available at Pebble Brook Clinic in Newton Poppleford and Barnfield Crescent in Exeter.
If you can’t make it in person or if you would prefer remote sessions, online or telephone sessions are available.
